Six Presidential Candidates Submit Washington Petitions, Four Are Verified Thus Far

Richard Winger has reported on the latest ballot access news out of Washington, which is that six presidential tickets have submitted signatures in the state of Washington, with four having been verified so far.

The deadline has passed in Washington state for minor party presidential candidates, and independent presidential candidates, to submit petitions. Already confirmed for the ballot are Rocky Anderson of the Justice Party, James Harris of the Socialist Workers Party, Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party, and Peta Lindsay of the Party for Socialism and Liberation. The state still hasn’t checked the petitions for Jill Stein of the Green Party and Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party.

Goode’s and Stein’s campaigns are not expecting any issues with their confirmation for the ballot in Washington.

    natural Mexican national for VP

This misinformation has been corrected on past threads.

Luis Rodriguez was born in the US, and is constitutionally qualified to serve as president or VP regardless of the citizenship of his parents at the time.

Rocky Anderson should abdicate in shame for putting up a natural Mexican national for VP. Barr/Sheehan is clearly the pro-American option.

This is good. The people of Washington State will have more choices then just the Republicans and Democrats.

It’ll be nice to have a long list to choose from, but I do wish Barr/Sheehan had been active a month or so ago, we could easily have gotten them and the Peace and Freedom Party o the ballot.

In an ideal world Rocky Anderson would see clearly that he has no chance of getting to the needed electoral votes, he and his VP would step aside and the JP et al would replace them with Barr/Sheehan.
