Longtime Libertarian Party leader Gigi Bowman has announced her candidacy for the New York State Senate. She’s taking on an entrenched, 20-year establishment Republican incumbent. But if anyone can pry a career politician out of office, it’s a sincere, impassioned citizen-candidate like Gigi Bowman. Now if she can just collect 10,000 ballot access signatures, she’ll be all set.
We should disclose right from the start that Gigi Bowman is one of this publication’s favorite people. While we’ve never met her, we’ve spent years admiring and appreciating her ceaseless efforts on behalf of dozens of worthy causes and individuals. If half the people Gigi’s helped over the years come back and return the favor, she’ll win her election in a landslide.
To illustrate how much of an everyday, regular person Georgina “Gigi” Bowman is, it took us a while to figure out what part of the political spectrum she’s actually from. Just like us, the left-wingers probably accuse her of being a right-winger and the right-wingers probably accuse her of being a left-winger. That suggests she’s sincere in her positions and passions, unlike most Republicans and Democrats who tend to follow the party line. Instead of being beholden to special interests, Bowman promises to serve only the people and put their interests first for a change.
Showing just how sincere her intentions are, Bowman occasionally gives people a glimpse into her personal life and the biggest factor of all that gave her the motivation and passion to enter politics. Some time ago, Gigi’s own child tragically joined the ranks of hundreds of thousands of other Americans who took their own life after experiencing suicidal side effects from a questionable pharmaceutical prescription. Now, Gigi doesn’t only take Big Pharma to task, she’s spent years defending victims of pretty much all injustices.
“I promise to bring these real issues to the forefront,” Bowman assured supporters in an email recently, “like Geo-Engineering, GMO Food, Common Core Education, Vaccine Safety, Agenda 21, Smaller Government, regaining the Liberty we have lost by repealing federal laws in our state like Industrial Hemp, the NDAA, the Patriot Act, the NY SAFE Act, and the issue most near and dear to my heart, Corporatism and Big Pharma, as I have lost my own child to suicide this way.”

Mark is right….it would be a shame if after all of this I don’t get on the ballot.
The biggest hurdle will be to get on the ballot. We are in a challenge state where hired scum use every technicality to knock our candidates off the ballot.
The best way to counter that is to flood them with excess petition signatures as the Redlich ticket so successfully did in 2010. Gigi plans to do the same.
Petitioning requires lots of funding. Please help her out as I already have.
