Jeff Petermann, chairman of the Elkhart County Libertarian Party, has secured the nomination to run for the 2nd District U.S. House seat as the party’s representative.
“I plan on pouring my all into the next several months into spreading the message of liberty and in showing why Jackie Walorski, as shown through her voting record, is pro-government and a moderate at best,” Petermann said in a statement Monday, April 28. “If you are looking for a congressman that will fight for your rights and your freedoms, I will be your choice.”

Petermann previously served as precinct committeeman for the Republican Party here in Elkhart County before switching to the Libertarian Party. He heard national Republican leaders “talking and sounding an awful lot like the Democrats. After doing my research and seeing that the two parties were almost identical, I knew it was time to make the choice to leave the Republican Party,” Petermann said.
