Phil Anderson exploring Libertarian run for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin

Phil Anderson of Fitchburg, WI has announced his formation of an exploratory committee to possibly run for Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate seat in 2016, in an election currently expected to feature a rematch between incumbent first-term Republican Ron Johnson and Democratic former Senator Russ Feingold.

Anderson is a realtor and the general manager of Green Cab of Madison, a company which offers environmentally-friendly hybrid cabs. He is the president of the Libertarian Party of Dane County, helping to re-found and revitalize the capital-area party with regular social gatherings and a weekly farmer’s market booth at the State Capitol. Anderson is currently also the chair of the Affiliate Support Cmte. for the Libertarian Party of Wisconsin.

In 2014, Anderson was the Libertarian candidate for State Representative in the 47th District (Fitchburg, Monona, SE Madison) where he won 18.4% of the vote running against Democratic incumbent Robb Kahl under a campaign slogan of “Peace. Prosperity. Privacy.
