The Conservative Party of New York State released a statement early Friday regarding the expulsion of Republican Representative George Santos from Congress, with Conservative Party Chair Gerard Kassar stating, “good riddance.”
Santos, who is facing a 23-count federal indictment, stands accused of embezzling campaign funds and deceiving donors, reporting fictitious loans, and engaging in fraudulent business transactions. On Friday morning, a resolution to expel Santos passed with the necessary two-thirds majority, garnering 311 votes in favor, 114 against, with two abstentions.
“A stain on Congress has been cleansed. Good riddance, Mr. Santos. Let the special election process begin,” the statement reads in its entirety. A copy of the press release is available below:
The Conservative Party of New York State, founded in 1962 as a response to conservative dissatisfaction with state Republicans, is a statewide party that frequently leverages New York’s fusion voting laws to its advantage.
Not a fan of any of these political vermin, but they seriously overstepped their bounds and abandoned their own rules. Santos, a world class d*pshit by any measure, should have been granted a “trial” by his congressional peers and then he should have been expelled (since the outcome was inevitable given the ire of the congressvermin). The precedent this sets will come back and bite the people in the duopoly that are currently cheering this. Will they be cheering when Rashida Tlaib, AOC or Jim Jordan, et al, are unceremoniously tossed out? They probably won’t. I will…but they’re gonna be pissed when we wave their hypocrisy in their faces. So much for that democracy that’s always under attack.
The Conservative Party of New York endorsed Mr. Santos on their ballot line in the 2022 election.
