Kathy Yeniscavich announced her immediate resignation this week as an at-large representative to the Libertarian National Committee. She was first elected as the Region 1 alternate at the 2022 Libertarian National Convention and became a full member in 2023 when she was selected to fill a vacancy.
In a statement shared Tuesday on the public Business List, Yeniscavich said she initially intended to resign following the 2025 Christmas season but stayed on at the request of then-Chair Angela McArdle. According to her statement, McArdle asked her to remain until Ross Ulbricht received a full pardon from President Donald Trump, which was granted in January. Yeniscavich said she then opted to remain through the recent leadership transition and assist with closing out projects.
“Having assisted with these items, I have decided that the time is right,” Yeniscavich wrote. “Effective immediately I resign from the LNC and all subcommittees.”
She expressed appreciation for current Chair Steven Nekhaila and Vice Chair Paul Darr, saying they were “wholly committed to saving the Libertarian Party,” which she described as “a ship that is sinking.” Yeniscavich also called on members to renew their membership and donate, adding that the party is “worth saving, even if it doesn’t seem for many of you to be the case at the moment.”
In her statement, she also warned of financial instability and urged the committee to prioritize fundraising moving forward. She pointed to recent signs of inattention from the board and said the issue could no longer be ignored.
“We have had several signs that the board has not been paying attention,” she wrote. “Now is the time to start.”
Since announcing her resignation from the LNC and all subcommittees, a motion to accept it was introduced by Chair Nekhaila. A vote is currently underway.

Thank you Ms. Kathy. You did a lot of work for this party and will not forget you.
Perhaps now that you are free of the encumbrances of the LNC duties you can explain the beef with former Chair McArdle.
