The Libertarian Party of Ohio will hold its 2025 Summer Conference this year in Columbus. The event will feature speakers, candidate training sessions, and strategy discussions aimed at strengthening the party’s presence ahead of the 2026 election cycle.
According to event details published on the Libertarian Party of Ohio’s website, the conference is scheduled for August 22 through August 24 and will take place at the Sonesta Downtown Columbus. The state party is partnering with several outside groups for the event, including the Equal Vote Coalition, the Ohio Coalition to End Qualified Immunity, the Gahanna Foundation, the Buckeye Ballot Access Coalition, and AxOhTax.com.
Activities will include candidate training sessions, panel discussions, and speeches from various Libertarian speakers. Attendance at conference panels and presentations will be free for all active state party members. However, separate ticketing applies to the evening and brunch events unless attendees purchase the full package. More information and ticket details are available on the party’s website.
Members of the Libertarian Party of Ohio’s 99 Club will also receive automatic full access to the conference. The fundraising program was launched earlier this year with the goal of raising $1 million by recruiting donors to commit $99 per month from March through December to support 99 state legislative candidates with $10,000 each.
Speakers currently announced include 2024 Libertarian presidential nominee Chase Oliver; Burnsville, Minnesota Council Member and candidate trainer Cara Schulz; elections activist Josiah Lanning; and Cynthia Brown, founder of the Ohio Coalition to End Qualified Immunity. Libertarian Party of Ohio Political Director and Plymouth Mayor Cassaundra Fryman and Communications Director and 2018 gubernatorial nominee Travis Irvine are also scheduled to speak.
The Libertarian Party of Ohio’s Summer Conference is not the same as its state convention, which it only holds in even-numbered years. The party’s next convention is scheduled for 2026 and, according to bylaws, must be held no later than 90 days before the 2026 general election.
