U.S. Pirate Party to Host 2026 National Conference in Boston

The United States Pirate Party will host its 2026 Pirate National Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, following several weeks of member voting. The conference is scheduled to take place next June and is expected to be held on a boat, with a hybrid option for virtual participation.

In a December 15 statement, the party announced that Boston was selected over Vicksburg, Mississippi, as the conference site in the final round of voting, which officially concluded over the weekend. The selection process was a multi-round, tournament-style vote that began in November and originally included twelve potential host cities. Boston was among four locations that received an automatic advance to the second round of voting.

Jolly Mitch Davilo, captain of the U.S. Pirate Party, praised Boston as the next host city, calling it “an instantly recognizable location” with deep ties to the nation’s history and struggles against tyranny. While it is still too early for a full agenda, the upcoming conference will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the national organization. Davilo further commended the role of the Massachusetts Pirate Party in helping establish the party over the last two decades and regarded the selection of Boston as an opportunity to appropriately honor the affiliate’s contributions.

“There wouldn’t be a twenty years old Pirate Party in existence today without the work of the Massachusetts Pirate Party,” Davilo said. “For that, I could not think of a more perfect setting.”

The statement added that the other cities considered during the selection process, including Vicksburg, will be retained on a permanent list of potential future conference sites. Additional details about the 2026 conference are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
