Last weekend, I had the great opportunity to spend some time with more than 1,000 enthusiastic, energized, and yes, smart young people at the International Students for Liberty Conference in Washington, DC.
If there was any doubt that the liberty movement is ready to explode, spending a few hours with those young people removed it. Fox Business’s John Stossel taped this week’s STOSSEL from the conference, and I was pleased to join him. You can watch it here, and I urge you to do so.
In April, we will begin taking the Our America Initiative to college campuses across the nation to capture and motivate that same enthusiasm. I, along with other speakers, will be talking about what young Americans can do to have a real impact on issues of individual and economic freedom, the size and scope of government, and foreign policies that do not embroil us in perpetual wars.

With the politicians in Washington attacking our rights at every opportunity, whether it be dismantling the 2nd Amendment or spending us even deeper into debt, the time for action is now. The Our America Initiative is dedicated to the proposition that millions of Americans are looking for dramatically new approaches to the issues of the day — approaches that mean less government and greater freedom, and that those millions of Americans need and deserve a voice.
After seeing the energy and enthusiasm of those young people last weekend, I am excited about our opportunities, and anxious to get to work! I hope you will join me!

This is very awkward writing. You should just say “Our American Initiative.”
Of course, you could say it this way: “The Our American Initiative initiative” or “Our Our American Initiative initiative” both of which sound redundant, but aren’t, but both are still awkward.
Yes, young people get it.
But does the LP leadership get it?
