Jill Stein Opposes Supreme Court Ruling on Immigrants

Jill Stein, the presumptive Green Party nominee for President, harshly criticized the Supreme Court decision today that blocks President Obama’s effort to protect more than 4 million undocumented immigrant parents from the threat of deportation

“Our nation of immigrants needs a just immigration system that won’t allow the ruling elite to divide working people. That means halting deportations, passing the DREAM Act, and creating legal status and a path to citizenship for hard-working, law-abiding undocumented immigrants,” said Stein.

Stein said if elected President, she would seek to reinstate the administrative protections against such deportations and appoint a US Supreme Court Justice that would uphold the constitution and protect the needs of average people.

“The US government shouldn’t be deporting innocent families who are fleeing violence, starvation and persecution in their home countries. Forcing them to return puts them at risk of rape, torture, and death. Many have already had family members murdered or actively threatened with murder,” said Stein.

Stein noted as Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton supported the deportations of immigrants. This includes refugees—women and children – coming from Honduras, whose refugee crisis Clinton was very much responsible for by giving a thumbs-up to the corporate coup in Honduras that created the violence from which those refugees are fleeing. Instead of addressing the root of the problem, the Obama administration has decided to attack the people most harmed by Bill Clinton’s NAFTA, which lined the pockets of Wall Street and harmed working people on both sides of the border.

Stein has previously criticized the Obama Administration’s night raids on immigrant families as “a morally abhorrent response to a refugee problem deeply rooted in predatory U.S trade, drug and military policies.”

    Jill Stein supports government lists for denying people the right to fly(travel) without due process. She supports government lists to deny people the right to self-defense without due process. Why then is she against government lists for deportation? The first two deny the right to travel,the right to make a living and the right to defend your body against aggression. Exactly what a damn deportation list denies. The Supreme Court merely took Jill Stein up on her support of government lists.

    “However the understanding has to be all tax payer assistance programs immigrants are eligible for such as low income housing, low income local landline telephone service, low income long distance landline telephone service, low income natural gas service, low income electrical service, free cell phone service, public elementary education, public high school education, public jr high school education, in state college tuition, Head Start, Food Stamps, Medicare, National School Lunch Program, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children Program), Obamacare, Planned Parenthood services, Low income renters assistance, etc., etc, etc. NO ONE will no longer be eligible to receive.”

    If the immigration process were made a simple as possible and all quotas were removed, there wouldn’t be a problem with “illegal” immigration. I saw bienvenidos todos! Los Estado Unido es aqui para tu! (Sadly, that is about the extent of my Spanish).

    I agree with this. However the understanding has to be all tax payer assistance programs immigrants are eligible for such as low income housing, low income local landline telephone service, low income long distance landline telephone service, low income natural gas service, low income electrical service, free cell phone service, public elementary education, public high school education, public jr high school education, in state college tuition, Head Start, Food Stamps, Medicare, National School Lunch Program, WIC (Women, Infants, and Children Program), Obamacare, Planned Parenthood services, Low income renters assistance, etc., etc, etc. they will no longer be eligible to receive.

    And the Constitutional prohibition against immigrants being President will remain in place.

    And with the understanding immigrants are not to be considered Americans unless and until they become citizens of the United States. And to become a citizen of the United States a person should know US History, civics e.g., The Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, how to speak English, and not have been convicted of a felony.

    With those thoughts understood I support the rights of immigrants to come to this great nation founded under the understanding that we hold certain truths to be sacred and undeniable that that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

    While I am not in favor of mass deportations, would it kill the Green Party (or the Left in general) to talk about issues that impact the average taxpaying, law-abiding US citizen? Just once?

    If I am not a criminal scuffling with the police, an illegal immigrant, a killer on death row, a perennially striking gov’t employee, etc, what exactly does the Left have to offer me except higher taxes to pay for all the Official (TM) Victim Groups? Very little, it seems.

    We have illegal immigration because we have a vast market for jobs that Americans don’t want and refuse to work. The current system in place is outdated and keep up with market demand and there’s no shortage of people looking to escape deplorable conditions in their homeland for a better life.

    Why not develop an immigration system that can actually meet demand?

    People who break into our house and come here illegally are not immigrants, but law breakers and they should be treated accordingly. If we’re not going to enforce the law then why can’t I go rob a bank and have the government give me a pass?

    Your argument assumes that the government is the rightful owner of all the land that it claims jurisdiction over. In reality, you have the right to exclude whomever you want from your own property, but you have no right to tell others whom they must exclude. In other words, there simply is no “our” house.

    The problem with the Obamas, Clintons and Stein’s is that they confuse illegal trespassers with true immigrants. I believe most of the country is in favor of immigration, but what they’re not in favor of are those people illegally crossing the border.

    An immigrant is somebody who knocks on the door and asks “may I please come into your house?” And they’re told, “certainly, but first here is a list of things you must do and by the way it will take you about five years to complete the list. Come back in five years and let’s see how you did. The list requires the person to undergo an extensive background check, medical examination, lean about our history and how the government works and last requires a test of passable English.

    Meanwhile, a group has broken the window out in the back of the house and crawled through it. The owner of the house goes into the kitchen to find them sitting at the table eating his food, which they expect to be given for free. When the owner protests the group demands he speak to them in their language.
