Gregg Jocoy, who writes for both IPR and Green Party Watch, has been “banned for life” after four posts at Sean Hannity’s blog.
The Hannity blog linked to Green Party Watch, along with some inaccurate information about the Green Party. Shortly after Mr. Jocoy corrected the misinformation, he was “banned for life.” And not in a subtle manner, either. Here is Jocoy’s description of what happened:
I was composing [a comment], and when I posted it, I got a BIG RED “You are BANNED FOR LIFE” for violating their terms of service.

It should also be noted as a fun fact that Sean Hannity himself belongs to a third party, that being the Conservative Party of New York.
I just got blocked form Hannity’s blog. He doesn’t like people that disagree with him. This really shows his true character.
When I try to type in the comment box, I get a statement saying “use characters only”. Is there any way that I can un-block this?
hello fellow banned for lifers just got banned guees i though to much. all i did was point out the fact the mr sean likes to say the same things over and over and sounds like babbling. guess all you need to do is think something other than what “They” want you to. I was not really surewhom i was going to vote for but mr. sean help make up my mind.

You may well be right RedPhillips. I haven’t spent a lot of time talking with her in person nor have I looked into her legislative history with any attention to detail. I suppose that makes me a political slacker to some extent, but it’s true.
Even so, I don’t see her as being pro-corporate. No candidate is solid on every plank. She does seem genuinely open to learning more about what makes Greens tick so to speak, so while she may not currently be a “small is beautiful” type, maybe with time she will become more interested in Shumacher’s economic ideas and Illich’s ideas on schooling and energy and Ghandi’s ideas on nationalism and violence, but for today I am willing to believe that she is ours from head to toe. She brought her entire family to Chicago to stand with her, father, mother, son and more, so she’s as Green as they get as far as I am concerned. We can address details later, and I am sure we will.
Gregg, I don’t see McKinney as a “small is beautiful” type. She strikes me as very much a big government liberal.
I think the Black Panther Party’s position on guns was exactly correct. I admire people who exercise their freedoms rather than just talk about them.
I agree entirely with the greens on their opposition to corporate subsidies, but I disagree with their fundamental beliefs behind what they believe. The more I read the platform the more and more I have to shake my head at.
I also don’t use the term “greenies” negatively, as I am often defending false opinions that are given to you. Most there think you guys are idiots and “control the Democrats” which I point out is completely incorrect. Greens actually oppose the war, Patriot Act, and corporate subsidies.
Thanks for addressing my concerns as you know more about the inner workings of the GP much better than I ever will. Most of what I posted was opinion, and should be treated as such.

There are Marxists who advocate violence in the Green Party. See 2006 U.S. Senate candidate for Michigan, David Sole.

Minor corrections, might even be thought of as a difference of opinion more than factual error.
For example, you write that Pat LaMarche urged supporters to vote for Kerry. yes and no. What she did was say something like “If I lived in a close state, I’d vote for Kerry.” This was more in the way of explaining the disastrous “Safe States” strategy than an actual request to vote for Kerry, but as I said, that might be splitting hairs.
I don’t that many Greens are anti-second amendment. Like many Republicans and democrats, there are Greens who believe in fairly onerous gun control policies, but I believe that most Greens support the right to keep and bear arms as an individual right guaranteed by the Constitution. Don’t forget that a decent number of our membership and leadership is either a former Black Panther Party member or supporter, or has studied and developed an appreciation for what they did. remember, the BPP’s real name was the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, and they were often seen with guns. I know this frightens lots of white folks, but why should it scare us when Black folks have guns if we don’t care when white folks have guns?
I also don’t agree that Greens are anti-freedom in our economic policy, but I figure that is again splitting hairs. To me, Green economics is not based on government control and manipulation as much as it is based on the principle that “Small is beautiful” and that centralization is bad. Therefore, if you want to open a bakery, Greens would want you to be able to do so with as little government interference as possible. However, if you want to open a nuclear power plant, well, we had better talk.
I’m not saying that there are not socialists and communists in the Green Party, there are. They are also there in the Republican and Democratic parties. They just don’t step out into the open in the other parties. And that one is 100% opinion that I can not prove at all.
Your observation of how we “Greenies” feel about the Conn campaign is very close to spot on as far as I am concerned, and I am sure many Greens would agree. BTW, I don’t care for “Greenies” I guess because it’s so close to “Meanies” and we all know they were blue, not green.
Finally, I again believe that Green economics is not Marxist, but an entirely different take on the situation. We live on a finite planet with limited resources, including clear air and water. Socialist or capitalist, an economic system that does not address that fundamental fact faces crisis sooner rather than later.

Thanks. I noted from your first post that you were putting on asbestos underpants, so I did expect to be unable to break through to the more set-in-their-ways folks, but hoped that the casual reader might see my message and look at the actual platform etc.
I also noted that you said that you were not a Green, but thought that a fuller discussion was in order. That is part of what I hoped to do. Not so much for the people who post there as for the lurker.
I appreciate very much the ping back. Please do so as often as you like. ~Smile~ We had a banner day today at GPW, with more than 500 hits by day’s end and more than 1900 page views. Nothing compared to what G.E. and the usual gang of idiots here get away with, but not too bad for us.

I understand that most people there are clueless but I get along with some of them. I thought it would be nice getting some information for them to look up if interested from good sources like GPW and IPR especially since I’m sure most of them think that Ralph Nader was a Green Party nominee.
I’ve also had my own run-ins with mods there, and have been banned more than a couple times (rules are made up on the spot there, everything is at mod discretion)…
