Legendary consumer advocate, author and former presidential candidate Ralph Nader is calling on Attorney General Merrick Garland to prosecute former president Donald Trump for his role in the January 6 riot.
“Today is the one year anniversary of the insurrection against Congress fermented by then-president Donald J. Trump,” Nader tweeted. “That was a major crime under federal law. When will Attorney General Merrick Garland enforce the law and prosecute Donald J. Trump? Ask him at 202-514-2000.”
“President Biden declined to name Donald Trump in his speech at the Congress today. He referred to him as the former or defeated president,” he added moments later. “By contrast, Trump names everybody and then doubles down with pejorative nicknames. Why give Trump such a pass in a presidential address?”
Nader’s frustration with his perceived lack of urgency on the part of Democrats has become particularly evident in the past few days. He has continued to challenge the majority party for inaction on a variety of topics, including Medicare For All:
They should be called "Medicare Disadvantage" plans for all the trap doors awaiting deceived elderly who were signed up by corporate insurers like UnitedHealthcare and Aetna. -R

None of these demands are being made by Congressional Democrats now that Biden is in the White House. Why? -R

Tomas,
Thank you for your erudite, intellectual argument. As has been the case so often on this forum, the incredible strength of your logic and evidence was inescapably persuasive.
People like the traditionalist are missing a few important chromosomes. Your trumpets cast many illegal votes but were given a pass because of their color. Try getting your tongue out of dumps ass.
Traditionalist – I have not been aware of all of Nader’s activities over the years so I was giving him some slack if he had, even inadvertently and no matter how small, brought some benefit to the public arena. But he is now officially simply a Deep State lackey/water boy/stooge.
Mr. Grundmann,
What possible credit should Mr. Nader get for any of his past endeavours? I would understand had you said blame rather than credit. His entire history has been toxic and pernicious.
Austin,
I think IPR is shaping up!
More articles, more comments. More names, old and new.
Good work!

Whatever possible credit Nader could be credited with for any of his past actions/endeavors is now totally gone as he has ‘ come out of the closet ‘ as an official agent of the Deep State; i.e. he is a traitor.”
My guess is that Ralph Nader is probably not actively part of a conspiracy here, he is probably just repeating the leftist narrative about what happened.
Whatever possible credit Nader could be credited with for any of his past actions/endeavors is now totally gone as he has ” come out of the closet ” as an official agent of the Deep State; i.e. he is a traitor.
Will Nader go after the FBI for all of agents it used to promote the so-called ” Insurrection?”; a total joke of a description as it was far more a ” tourist event “; i.e. no guns, and just wandering through the building.
Don J. Grundmann, D.C.
Chairman, Constitution Party of California; a Party which recognizes that the Deep State stole the election ( performed a coup ) and imposed Emperor Biden on our now Banana Republic.
I am surprised that there are self professed libertarians out there who are naive enough to believe the official story about J6.
“Fermented” seems about right when you consider how rancid the January 6 revolt was, and how smelly the whole Donald Trump administration was. Even Ralph Nader gets things right sometimes.

Nader actually uses the word ‘fermented’ and not ‘fomented’ for whatever reason.”
I am going to guess that he made a mistake, possibly a typo.
Except perhaps not go on the air and..
This Nader termite is perhaps the single worst termite our free enterprise system has faced. The people who need to be, and I believe shall in a few years, be prosecuted are those who perpetrated the real coup that day, the ones who rigged our election and installed Chinese Communist Party puppet Biden and Kommie Kamala. Trump did absolutely nothing wrong, except perhaps go on the air and call on all his supporters nationwide to lead a real counterinsurrection, given that the real insurrection was what happened when the tempest in a teapot was quelled.
I trust that, as Commander in Chief, Trump correctly gauged that it was not the right time to take on our domestic enemies, and the foreign enemies they serve, militarily. Be probably knew that not enough time had yet been spent cleaning out the upper echelons of military command, that the overwhelming majority of troops would follow their orders rather than his, and that in the end it would lead to a more brutal crackdown and a foreclosing of legal options to save America and make it great again.
I think he’s making the right moves, letting the puppet regime fail so spectacularly that they will create a massive Republican wave in congress this November, put him in as speaker of the House, and impeach and perhaps even remove the puppet and vice puppet and return him to his rightful office. Even if not the last part, it will set the stage for a Trump landslide in 2024 that will be so historically massive that the Chinese and their Democrat puppets couldn’t even begin to credibly steal it again, lest they would “ferment” a real insurgency, one that would actually topple their puppet regime and take them to war.
The key weaknesses in the vote counting and certification process were identified in 2020 and are being corrected state by state. The rhinos are being swept out of the GOP. The weak points of the deep state and the disloyal aides were identified in Trump’s first term. The real fun starts when Trump is back in office, which could be as late as January 2025 or as early as next year.
Linnabary.
Steven R. Linnebary,
Yes, I believe foment is more correct, or at least more often used in this context.
I recognize your name but do not recall if you were a detractor of mine or not back in the day.
Can you refresh my memory?
Nader actually uses the word “fermented” and not “fomented” for whatever reason.
I think the headline should read “Nader Calls on Merrick Garland to Prosecute Trump for ‘Fomenting’ Insurrection”….
He’s upset Trump doesn’t respond to his letters.
Oh come on Ralph Nader, if this is the kind of weak garbage you are going to put out, go back into obscurity.
