Podcaster and comedian Joe Rogan expressed support for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience on Thursday, which the campaign later referred to as an endorsement.
“That’s politics. They do it on the left, they do it on the right. They gaslight you, they manipulate you, they promote narratives, and the only one who’s not doing that is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.,” Rogan said during a conversation with cryptozoologist Bob Gymlan.
“He’s the only one that makes sense to me. He doesn’t attack people; he attacks actions and ideas. But he’s much more reasonable and intelligent. I mean, the guy was an environmental lawyer and he cleaned up the East River. He’s a legitimate guy.”
Following the episode, the Kennedy campaign shared a Newsweek article highlighting Rogan’s praise as an endorsement of Kennedy on its website. Kennedy also thanked Rogan for his support via X, from “one ‘legitimate’ guy to another.”
A Bloomberg article earlier this year revealed that Joe Rogan’s podcast has roughly 14.5 million followers, making it the most highly listened to podcast on Spotify. A YouTube version of Thursday’s episode alone has already been viewed over 360,000 times in under 24 hours, according to the platform.
Didn’t Rogan previously endorse John McAfee and Bernie Sanders? I’m not sure his endorsement should be cause for celebration on Kennedy’s part, as much as for introspection about where he went wrong…
