It makes me wince to see the LP put out an advisory that sounds in part like a promo for Michael Savage — “One of America’s most-
listened to radio hosts, Michael Savage has 8.25 million listeners on 400 stations, putting him behind only Rush Limbaugh, National Public
Radio and Sean Hannity.”
The truth is that Savage’s name is quite fitting — he is a ranting,
foaming-at-the-mouth, kind of radio host, the type you worry about going postal and taking out an office full of people somewhere, or
inspiring someone else to do so. I once heard him on the air urging that motorists *run down* bicyclists participating in Critical Mass
and blocking traffic in San Francisco. I would think twice before even wanting a Libertarian to be associated with his show as a guest, let alone bragging about it in a way that gives him free
complimentary publicity. If David Duke hosted a popular radio show, we wouldn’t be falling over ourselves to let people know a
Libertarian was a guest on that show now, would we? Savage is no better as far as I’m concerned.
Unfortunately it would probably be expecting too much from Wayne Allyn Root to expect him to have any qualms about it, or to take
Savage to task for any of his hateful ranting.
