WHY YOU KNOW HIM: The former software engineer, teacher, lawyer and new media entrepreneur from Northern Virginia was the Libertarian candidate for governor. On Election Day, he got 6.5 percent of the vote.
Sarvis, who ran his campaign on a shoestring, sought to achieve the 10 percent threshold that would give Libertarians automatic placement on future ballots. Polls showed many voters turning to Sarvis as an alternative — a dynamic that some suggested adversely affected Republican Ken Cuccinelli’s chances.

“The Republican Party has an amazing ability to always find someone other than themselves to blame for their defeats,” he said. “Their response to this election is actually kind of emblematic of their politics, where prior beliefs trump evidence whenever the two conflict.”

Shane, do you ever check your Facebook page?
Paulie, thank you for that map. Interestingly, the Libertarian Party has relatively strong and active organizations in the purple states: Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Colorado. Keep in mind that Ed Crane and his new Purple PAC had a great deal to do with this swing. Had it not been for the $300k independent expenditure in television, Sarvis’ impact would have been limited.
Crane proved that a little money goes a long way in spoiling a race.
That should be fun 🙂
It seems that there is a chance that he will run for US Senate in 2014.
Looking forward to pissing off more Republicans by supporting his next campaign in 2014.
and that he is actively working to grow the strength of the Virginia Libertarian Party….
And that he is still getting the Libertarian Party talked about.
It is great that he is still being talked about.
