Was McArdle present when Sid Daoud and Liam McCollum met with Trump and Tim Sheehy before Trump’s Montana rally? Or did she only arrange for them to meet without being there herself?
The article suggests the former:

But her tweet is more ambiguous:

Either way, this does look like a very nice dinner – I love the ornamented wood paneling – but for goodness sake Angela, get your elbow off the table, it’s bad etiquette.
Libertarian National Committee Chair Angela McArdle recently shared a photo of her meeting with former President Donald Trump. McArdle has previously hinted that she has met with Trump, and it’s reasonable to assume they must have coordinated in some capacity for his attendance at the Libertarian National Convention. However, to my knowledge, this photo is the first definitive proof of their meeting.

The other problem appears to be fixed too.
Monthly thread issue fix confirmed.

Too real for comfort.
Nice piece by Doherty, and a good reminder about the things I don’t miss from my years of being associated with the libertarians and other minor parties for most of the last 57 years starting with George Wallace for President and up through Virgil Goode and some down ballot independent and minor party conservative candidates even more recently.
It’s always shady in Arizona, update (refer back to https://independentpoliticalreport.com/2024/09/september-2024-monthly-news-open-thread/#comments )

That’s right! Maricopa County election officials are already making sure they have 10-13 days to commit massive ballot fraud, if the election doesn’t got the way they want – which it won’t – just like last time.
Massive countries like Brazil, Argentina and Russia can get the official results published within 1-2 days, but Maricopa County needs almost two weeks. How is this legal?
“I know how this group works, because I used to be in the group.”
Until very recently, even. So Harlos does remember that it owes its position entirely to the Mises Caucus’ endorsement after all. What a hypocrite.
And it actually seems to have convinced itself that ‘Dishonest’ Doherty’s smear piece in a notoriously statist fake news rag, will somehow do something other than win McArdle sympathy among libertarians:

If people haven’t seen it, Reason Magazine has also picked up on the derivative lawsuit filed by the LNC Secretary against the Libertarian National Committee.

It’s not those who write in who count, but those who count the write ins…
“how many Presidential candidates have filed a certificate of candidacy in New York?”
I don’t know. And a cursory search isn’t yielding anything.
If it’s anything like other states, it can be quite a pain to find out. It’s almost as if they don’t want people to know there are more options than are printed on the ballot…
Possibly the best and certainly the easiest way to find out is to directly ask the BoE or SoS’s office. But there must be some publicly available list hidden away somewhere.
“New York has allowed fusion in the past, it is possible to run a fusionist write-in candidate?”
Interesting question. I’m not sure.
For that to apply to a (vice) presidential candidate, they would have to have to be part of multiple certified tickets. But if you can be printed on the ballot under more than one ticket, then I don’t see why you wouldn’t be allowed to be part of multiple certified write-in tickets, or of a write-in ticket and a fully ballot qualified ticket.
And in the case of candidates for other federal or state offices, since you can just write-in whoever, I don’t see any reason why fusion voting wouldn’t be allowed.
But I’m just speculating. I’m not certain whether the former has ever happened though. And while the latter must surely have happened repeatedly, I guess never on a large enough scale to be reported about(?)
New York state will tally the votes for declared write-in presidential candidates, but won’t tally the votes for other write-ins, unless the vote-counting equipment suggests a write-in might have won.
Okay, thanks.
So, how many Presidential candidates have filed a certificate of candidacy in New York?
And, given that New York has allowed fusion in the past, it is possible to run a fusionist write-in candidate?
Surprisingly relaxed compared to appearing on the ballot. To run for president or vice-president, write-in candidates have to file a “certificate of candidacy” with the board of elections before the deadline. But for other federal or state offices, they don’t have to submit any filing paperwork.
How are write-ins done in New York, since the petitioning requirements have become so prohibitive?
