Howie Hawkins wins nomination of the Socialist Party

At the 2019 Socialist Party Convention held in Newark, has chosen to nominate Howie Hawkins as their nominee.

Hawkins was one of two candidates to seek the Socialist Party’s nomination, the other being 2016 Green Party Presidential candidate Elijah Manley. Manley cited certain delegates not being in attendance as the reason he wasn’t nominated by the party.

Vice Presidential candidate Stephanie Cholensky, withdrew her candidacy after the nomination process was completed.

    Yes, he is not constitutionally eligible to be Prez. I’d say he’s better suited running for offices he is old enough for. If I remember correctly its to avoid certain FEC rules.

    This makes sense. The Green Party and the Socialist Parties are similar.

    Manley is NOT of constitutional legal age and needs to stop this bullshit. (That said, it’s too bad the SPUSA didn’t have other candidates. And, I don’t know why it and some other parties don’t wait until the actual election year.)
