Center for Competitive Democracy Files Petition re – FEC $175,000+ “Repayment” Demand Against GP’s Jill Stein

A 07 Dec 2021 Media Release from the Center for Competitive Democracy (CDC) states:

“Nearly five years after the 2016 presidential election — the FEC notified Dr. (Jill) Stein that she and her campaign committee must repay $175,272 in primary matching funds received during that election. The Stein Campaign spent the funds on petition drives to obtain ballot access nationwide — activity that the FEC itself identifies as equivalent to a primary election — but the FEC nevertheless concluded that the expenditures were not qualified primary expenses.… Read more ...

Kanye’s Out! (Or is He?)

Rapper Kanye West ended his Independent  2020 presidential campaign according to Steve Kramer, who was hired to coordinate ballot access efforts in Florida and South Carolina.  West announced his candidacy on July 4.  Most observers did not take the announcement seriously.  West later outlined his views in an interview with Forbes that seemed to suggest his run was real. … Read more ...

Daniel Imperato is Running for President in 2020

According to a press release from January, businessman Daniel Imperato is running for president in 2020 as an Independent. In the statement, Imperato attacks the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which prosecuted him in 2012 for allegedly conning investors out of millions of dollars. A page on AliveAdviser.com, which sells a guide to the US Constitution from the Heritage Foundation as a campaign donation, is listed as the official campaign website.… Read more ...

Jill Stein Raises More Money Post-Election for Recounts than Pre-Election for Campaign

Green Party nominee Jill Stein has been engaged in a post-election fundraising drive in order to pay for recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. Libertarian Party files suit against McCain-Feingold restriction on accepting deceased donor’s bequest

In 2007, Raymond Burrington died and left the Libertarian Party $217,000. The Federal Election Commission would not let the party have the money all at once. Instead, because the McCain-Feingold law limits the amount of money an individual can give to a party (whether the donor is alive or dead), the money had to be parceled out in chunks of about $30,000.
