Jesse Ventura Officially Joins Green Party, Spurring 2020 Talk

Former Minnesota governor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura officially joined the Green Party yesterday after publicly endorsing the party on Twitter a couple weeks ago.  The move seems to improve the odds that Ventura will seek the Green Party’s 2020 presidential nomination.  Last week, Ventura said he was “testing the waters” for a presidential run.… Read more ...

President Trump Tweets about Justin Amash Presidential Campaign Announcement

President Donald Trump tweeted yesterday about Independent Congressman Justin Amash’s announcement that he would launch an exploratory committee to determine whether to seek the Libertarian Party’s 2020 presidential nomination.

In response to Never Trumper Rick Wilson’s Tweet linking to former Congressman Joe Walsh’s Washington Post editorial arguing Amash’s candidacy would help Trump win re-election, the President wrote:

No, I think Amash would make a wonderful candidate, especially since he is way behind in his district and has no chance of maintaining his Congressional seat.

The Green Party’s Twitter account sent out the following message to supporters of Senator Bernie Sanders who today ended his campaign for the Democratic Party’s 2020 presidential nomination:

Super Tuesday: American Samoa Democratic Presidential Caucus Results and Third Party Implications

Former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, an independent from 2007 until last year, won the American Samoa Democratic Presidential Caucus on Super Tuesday.  He received 175 votes or 49.9 percent of the total, entitling him to four of the territory’s six delegates to the Democratic National Convention.  The remaining two delegates went to the second place finisher, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, who earned 103 votes or 29.3 percent of the total.… Read more ...

Hillary Clinton Accuses Jill Stein of Being a Russian Asset

 

During an appearance on the David Plouffe’s Campaign HQ podcast, former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, accused 2012 and 2016 Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein of being a Russian asset.  Clinton also accused the Russians of “grooming” a current Democratic presidential candidate, presumably Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, to be a 2020 third party candidate and spoil the election in favor of President Donald Trump.… Read more ...

On May 28th Green Party founder and Perennial New York Candidate Howie Hawkins announced he’d run for the Green Party Presidential Nomination, later that same day the official Green Party twitter made a now deleted post commemorating his entry into the race. Jill Stein Responds to Senate Committee Investigation

The Green Party issued a press release commenting on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence looking at  Jill Stein as part of its investigation into interference in the 2016 election. The statement reads as follows.

Jill Stein Raises More Money Post-Election for Recounts than Pre-Election for Campaign

Green Party nominee Jill Stein has been engaged in a post-election fundraising drive in order to pay for recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
