Libertarian activist Stephen P. Gordon died unexpectedly September 5, 2018 at the age of 56. An Alabama native, Gordon resided in New York since 2014, working for Project Veritas.

Lawsuit challenges Alabama ballot access law

MONTGOMERY — A federal lawsuit seeks to throw out an Alabama law that requires independent or third party candidates in the state to collect thousands of signatures to get their names on the ballot.

The lawsuit was filed by Andy Shugart, a Gardendale real estate investor, who said he wanted to run last year as an independent for the 6th Congressional District seat but did not because the law required him to collect 6,155 signatures — more than he figured he could get.… Read more ...

In a pair of press releases, Libertarian Party of Alabama chair Stephen Gordon addresses the Wall Street bailout proposal that was narrowly defeated yesterday in Congress, as well as the gas shortages currently taking place in Georgia and several Southeastern states.

Gordon blames gas shortages on anti-price gouging laws which several states have passed, pointing out that neighboring states which have not passed such laws have no gasoline shortages.… Read more ...

Anonymous sources from inside the Baldwin campaign say that the famed “Ron Paul billionaire” — whose existence was confirmed by Stephen Gordon Ron Paul’s spokesman and grandson-in-law, Jesse Benton (correction) — is in negotiations to get behind Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin.

While the unknown benefactor, whom many still consider to be a hoax, allegedly sought to spend $50 million in a parallel campaign for Ron Paul, he’s reportedly willing to part with only a fraction of that — between $2 million and $3 million — for Baldwin.… Read more ...
