Libertarian Party of Texas: What About Ron Paul?

From the Texas LP:

Fellow Libertarian,

Two days ago I asked you to support our effort to keep Heather Fazio working for the Libertarian Party of Texas. I asked you to go to http://www.lptexas.org/donate and make a monthly contribution. Yesterday I told you why this is important.

What about Ron Paul?

I know some of you are making donations to Ron Paul’s campaign. I have made donations to Ron’s campaigns in the past. I hope he becomes the Republican nominee for president. But what if that doesn’t happen?

Ron will not seek another term in Congress. The Libertarian Party already has candidates ready to take his seat. We have candidates seeking our party’s nomination for president. If Ron Paul is not on the ballot in 2012, you will still have Libertarians to vote for …

… if we provide the support that our candidates need. We need Heather to provide that support. There are many spots on the ballot for federal, state, and local candidates that need to have a Libertarian choice. We are very busy recruiting these candidates and helping them with the paperwork. We have until the end of the year to fill the ballot with Libertarians, and that is a lot of work. We need Heather in order to get this work done.

Please help us fill the ballot by going to http://www.lptexas.org/donate right now.

Ron Paul is a great friend of ours and a champion of the liberty movement. I wish him well. But you need to consider the possibility that he will not be on the ballot in 2012. Libertarians will be. Your support will determine whether we can keep Heather working to help our candidates.

Yours in Liberty,

Patrick Dixon

Chair, Libertarian Party of Texas

P.S.: Since 2004, we have placed record numbers of Libertarians on the ballot in Texas. We need Heather to help us keep up the pace. Very soon, we will be deciding whether we can keep Heather working for us. If you want to make that decision easy, make a contribution right now!

It seems Reagan only got votes in 8 primaries in the ’68 election and had more votes than Nixon, however he had WAY fewer delegates.

@4 – Reagan sought the nomination in 1976 – and lost, sought the nomination again in 1980, got it and was elected President…

Thank you for the Ron Paul coverage. He needs support and $ all the way. How many times did Reagan run before he was elected? Ron Paul is a great libertarian, but better than that, he’s a great man.

Dana Milbank of the Washington Post, has a nice piece on Ron Paul.

I have it up on my site if you can’t find it. It is well worth thinking about. Lots of Libs can learn something if they just try to think this one through.

You don’t get your message across by beating up on someone else.

Ron Paul will win….don’t let them psych you out!
