Videos of May 21 Libertarian Presidential and Vice Presidential Debates

On May 21 the Libertarian Party held two debates.  The first took place between the top five presidential candidates based on tokens received from national convention delegates.  The second took place between the top three vice presidential candidates also based on tokens received from delegates.

IPR 2020 Libertarian Party Presidential Preference Poll – Vice Presidential Results

In addition to voting for their presidential preference, voters in IPR’s Second 2020 Libertarian Party Presidential Preference poll May 17–19 also selected their preference for the Libertarian Party’s vice presidential nomination.

Arvin Vohra Slams Libertarian Party of Kentucky in Open Letter

2020 Libertarian Party presidential candidate and former Libertarian National Committee vice chair Arvin Vohra today posted the following Open Letter addressing the Libertarian Party of Kentucky (LPKY) on his Facebook page.  Vohra faults the LPKY for its debate inclusion criteria, which resulted in the exclusion of anti-war activist Adam Kokesh from part five of the LPKY debate this Saturday, despite Kokesh receiving the most votes in the poll after part four of the debate. Read more ...

Ken Armstrong Ends 2020 Presidential Bid to Seek VP Nomination

Former Coast Guard Officer Ken Armstrong withdrew from the race for the Libertarian Party’s presidential nomination Wednesday with the emergence of Congressman Justin Amash as a contender.  Armstrong has now launched a campaign for the vice presidential nomination.

Known for his booming voice on the campaign trail, Armstrong, who previously served as executive director of Habitat for Humanity in Hawaii, and as a member of the Honolulu County Neighborhood Board, took his libertarian message to various debates and party meetings. … Read more ...

Mark Whitney Withdraws Campaign for 2020 LP Presidential Nomination, Endorses Gray/Sharpe

Comedian Mark Whitney withdrew yesterday from the 2020 Libertarian Party presidential race, via Facebook, and endorsed the ticket of Judge Jim Gray for president and Larry Sharpe for vice president.  This comes after Whitney finished in fifth place in a straw poll after Wednesday’s Libertarian presidential debate in Kentucky.

Judge Jim Gray Enters 2020 Libertarian Party Presidential Race

Reason reports Judge Jim Gray, the Libertarian Party’s 2012 vice presidential nominee has entered the race for the Libertarian Party’s 2020 presidential nomination.  He has already named 2018 New York gubernatorial candidate Larry Sharpe as his running mate.

Larry Sharpe Breaks 50K – Ballot Access for Libertarians in New York

Libertarian NY Governor candidate Larry Sharpe broke the 50K vote barrier in New York State handily. At this writing he has nearly 86,000 votes with 95% of precincts reporting so he could break 90K. He’s running about 1.6% of the vote, not far behind Howie Hawkins of the Green Party who is at 1.66% with 90,000 votes at this writing.… Read more ...

Sharpe NY Campaign Finance Update

Larry Sharpe’s campaign has filed their 11-day pre-general campaign finance report. In the first three weeks of October the campaign raised another $73,000 and spent $65,000, closing with $32,000 in cash on hand.

The largest sums were spent on consultants and lawn signs, with campaign manager Brian Waddell receiving nearly $7000.… Read more ...
