A new chairman has been elected to the Libertarian National Committee at the 2020 National Convention.
Joseph Bishop-Henchman, who served as an at-large member of the LNC from 2018-2020 was elected on the second ballot for the chairman election. Bishop-Henchman received 43.81% of the vote in the first round with Joshua Smith, also an at-large member from 2018-2020, coming in second with 33.71% of the vote.… Read more ...
Independent Representative Justin Amash, who left the Republican Party on July 4th 2019, has announced his intention to form an exploratory committee to seek the Libertarian Party’s nomination.
Amash stated on Twitter:
Electoral reform organization, Free & Equal Elections is set to host a multi-party open Presidential Debate on March 4th, co-hosted by Open the Debates, an organization with similar intentions.

A Los Angeles college student who sued his school for allegedly curbing his right to free speech after it prevented him from passing out copies of the U.S. Constitution was vindicated in court this week.
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD), which represents nine schools, including Pierce College, agreed on Wednesday to settle a lawsuit filed against them last year by student Kevin Shaw after he was barred from passing out copies of the document because he wasn’t in the school’s designated “free speech zone,” which measured 616 square feet or about the size of three parking spaces.… Read more ...
